Convention Center & lux. hotel in San Miniato
The main goal is to blend in the landscape by reinterpreting its morphological system:
- The conference center is designed as a perched Tuscan village with its typical walls and vertical volumes which echo the surrounding hills shape and scale.
- The 4-star hotel bedrooms are laid out on different "green" levels that mimic the contour lines' twists and turns as well as their horizontal shape. They recall the tuscan villas' terraces and the traditional terraced Italian gardens. All bedrooms benefit from having a large balcony and a breathtaking view toward the lush valley.
- Most of the edifices are invisible from the prime entrance: only the main lobby emerges from the access belvedere. The Grand Auditorium can host concerts as well as conferences and shows and is open toward the Tuscan landscape which then becomes full part of the architectural speech.
